Cover Design Research

To design the cover for my magazine GILIAZ, I am going to have to look at certain programs to be able to create the look I want for my cover. The most used programs for design are Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketch.

Let's take a look at some covers made with those softwares.

1. Illustrator

I found this cover in the website ISSUU and I like ti because it shows the potential for what the app can be, as well as the colors and overall design.

2. Photoshop

I found this cover in Deviant Art and I like it because of the surreal design and all the different types of fonts.

I am already very comfortable with using Photoshop and Illustrator. Since I am a quick learner, I have been watching youtube tutorials to further my knowledge of each one and it has been working pretty well. Every time I open both applications I learn something new every time.

Ultimately, I will be using Photoshop for my magazine cover since it has the exact tools I need to design it the way I like. For the rest of my magazine, I will be utilizing both.
